Many top athletes have stayed quiet through the duration of the current genocide in Gaza, which began on the 8th of October 2023. Whether we are talking about football players, tennis players, cricket players or boxers, it is very rare to see the very best stand-up in front of a microphone and condemn the behavior of the Israeli army and those who support them. Top sports people are often backed by billionaire sports sponsors who wish their clients to remain neutral on all controversial issues which will then maximize the amount of profit they can make from said individuals.
If an Arab player is constantly condemning the Israelis, he is not marketable in the Western world. If a Western athlete were to constantly criticize black people, he would not be marketable in Africa obviously.
It was therefore an enormous surprise to see Cristiano Ronaldo, of all people, travelling to the United States to meet President Donald Trump. As somebody who has claimed to be a champion of the downtrodden and the oppressed and the weak, this was an extraordinary time for the Portuguese forward to meet the leader of the United States of America.
5 TAKE AWAYS FROM YESTERDAY'S WHITE HOUSE MEETING
CR7 IS A HYPOCRITE
Critics might argue that Ronaldo presents himself as a supporter of universal human rights and compassion, yet meeting Trump disregards the suffering of civilians in Gaza.
After all, Trump has consistently voiced support for Israeli military actions that most people around the world view as brutal and excessive. What most people regard as a genocide in Gaza would not be possible without the support of American funds and weapons and British intelligence work from their bases in Cyprus.
According to official figures, which are regarded as a severe underestimation by the British Medical Journal, over 70,000 Palestinians have been killed including a staggering 25,000 children.
Ronaldo walked through the White House smiling alongside this satanic war criminal.
RONALDO IS NOT A FRIEND OF THE PALESTINIAN PEOPLE
Some would say that Ronaldo has built a global brand around kindness, charity and solidarity with vulnerable communities but choosing to meet a rightwing Zionist, a political figure widely associated with hardline positions and indifference toward Palestinian civilian deaths, looks like a direct contradiction of those values. To be even more direct, Trump is just about every single thing the human being can be which is wrong and immoral.
He is an egotist who would destroy and bomb an entire country to prove a very small point.
He is constantly attacking immigrants to the United States when he is married to an immigrant.
He has supported the Israeli army in the worst massacre of human beings since the second World War.
He has attacked Iran and has also threatened to kill its leader if he so wishes.
He is currently talking about invading Venezuela because he does not like its "dictator" yet we all know that he wants to invade because the South American country possesses 10% of the world's oil.
The fact that Ronaldo was happy to meet him with all of this going on indicates that he does not have any real connection with the ordinary and opressed people of the world. From anecdotal evidence online, a number of Palestinian boys were actually killed by the Israelis while they were wearing Ronaldo tops. It is quite disgusting that he has no feelings for those children who looked up to him as an example of talent, determination and honesty.

CR7 IS NOT AS RELIGIOUS AS HE CLAIMS
While we are not privy to the personal relationship between Cristiano Ronaldo and his religion, he often mentions God. He has done this before games and after games and in press conferences for his club and international teams. On the face of it, this is admirable and something to be encouraged amongst professional sportsmen.
But let's be honest: it is much easier to be religious in a press conference or to pray on the pitch because there are no real moral choices to be made in such a situation. It is easy to thank God in front of the world's media after you have won a game, 5-0
Such a person would be in a fantastic mood, they would be delighted about their own victories and in such moments, it is easy to praise the Lord. But it is far more difficult to be religious in the face of a tyranny.
So for Cristiano Ronaldo to be invited to the White House at a time when the president of the United States is directly and indirectly killing hundreds of people a day, if he had turned down the invitation, he would have shown that his religious principles apply in all situations because according to the Bible, Jesus PBUH was not a violent man.
Yet the former Real Madrid striker has visited one of the most violent men on Earth at a time when he is supporting the murder of 100 children a day in Gaza. So he will have to answer for this on the day of judgment.
The Prophet Muhammad PBUH said "the greatest jihad is to speak truth in the face of a tyrant."
Cristiano Ronaldo has failed this test as he shook the hand of a tyrant with blood dripping from his hands.
RONALDO AND TRUMP HAVE MUCH IN COMMON
One of the most interesting things about yesterday's images and videos from the Whiteouse was the fact that the two men seemed to have a natural bond. Then again, when one thinks about who they are and what they have said over the years, perhaps it is not so surprising.
After all, President Trump has a history of calling himself the greatest American President even though nobody outside of it insane asylum considers him to be so.
Ronaldo also argues that he is the greatest player of all time when nobody outside of his family home actually agrees with him.
Occasionally, some of his former teammates will try to defend his claim, and say that he is a better player than Lionel Messi or Diego Maradona or Pele, but even this is very rare indeed. He is the most efficient physically that he is the least talented of these four players.
In fact, a poll conducted by Gary Lineker on his Twitter page five years ago indicated that close to 70% of the world's football fans consider Messi to be a superior player that Ronaldo.
Just as Ronaldo acts like there is an international conspiracy against him and in favour of Messi, Trump also cannot seem to go one day without mentioning Joe Biden or Barack Obama, who he will often blame for problems of his own creation. This is despite the fact that Obama was the president a decade ago.
The two men are unwilling to accept responsibility for their own failures and instead prefer to deflect, blaming perceived enemies and evil forces operating in the shadows.
Ronaldo's close friend, the violent thuggish defender Pepe, commented after the World Cup in 2022 that the tournament had been fixed for Argentina to win. This was a ridiculous and stupid statement given that Argentina were involved in two penalty shootouts during the tournament. They are notoriously hard to predict and anybody trying to fix the games would not allow it to get to a penalty shootout.
Anybody with half a brain or even a quarter of a brain would be aware of this Ronaldo and his cohorts have refused to accept that the World Cup in 2022 was one fairly and squarely by the best team who were led by the best player.
This is very similar to President Trump's attitude after he lost the elections in 2020 where he claimed, rather like Ronaldo himself, that there was a national conspiracy against him who opposed him because of his obvious greatness.
Four years ago, the Sky Sports pundit and former Liverpool defender Jamie Carragher commented on air that he considered Messi to be a far superior player to Ronaldo. A few days later, Ronaldo was on the pitch warming up for a game while Carragher was engaging in punditry work for television.
The then Manchester United forward was approached by the Sky Sports team and it was at that moment that Ronaldo, live on TV, shook hands with everybody that day except for Carragher.
Like Trump, he's a petty Betty.

RONALDO HAS USED HIS REACH TO LEGITIMIZE RACIST & SUSPECTED PAEDOPHILE
Cristiano Ronaldo's social media reach is staggering. He's become the first athlete to reach a billion followers across multiple platforms. Here's a breakdown of his massive following.
Instagram: 638 million followers, with each post earning him around $3.23 million
Facebook: 170.5 million followers
X (formerly Twitter): 113 million followers
YouTube: 60.5 million subscribers, making his channel "UR · Ronaldo" the fastest to reach 1 million subscribers
Kuaishou: 9.3 million followers Weibo: 7.5 million followers

His social media presence continues to grow, solidifying his position as a global sports. Yet instead of using this position to support the Palestinians in their time of need, he has now used his social media platform to make the American president, a warmonger and close friend of Jeffrey Epstein, look like a good man and great leader.
It has been rumoured that Ronaldo supported Palestinian causes but the evidence is quite flimsy overall apart from a school in Gaza which was rebuilt over a decade ago.
Rumours last year that he had donated 2 million dollars to Gaza have not been verified by anybody reliable.
Interestingly he posted a message of hope for children affected by conflict in 2016, stating, "We know that you have been suffering a lot. I am a very famous player but you are the true heroes. Don't lose your hope. The world is with you. We care about you. I am with you."
We now know that this statement is empty.
He's not with the Palestinians.
He's not with the children of Palestine.
He's not with the children who have been murdered.
He's not with the children that are currently being starved, about which he's said nothing for two years, despite living in a Muslim country.
We do not know if he attended the Whitehouse because he thinks it will increase his chances of winning the World Cup in 2026, what we do know is that he's stabbed the Palestinian people in the back at their lowest moment.
Cristiano Ronaldo is on the wrong side of history and he'll be judged accordingly in the years to come.
