Jealousy is a pretty normal human emotion, but it can become unhealthy and negatively impact relationships if supercedes your logic and true sense of self. In Islam, jealousy is considered a sin especially if you act on it.

Here are some tips for dealing with jealousy:

1️⃣ Focus on the good: Shift your focus to the good things in your life no matter how small. Even enjoying a cup of tea and your favourite chocolate biscuits is a great moment if you allow it to be. Allah has given you much so appreciate it!

2️⃣ Remember that no one has it all: Remind yourself that no one has everything. Allah has given people peaks in their life and troughs. Everyone has good in their life and difficulties too. What changes from person to person is the type of good and the type of difficulties.

3️⃣ Celebrate the success of others and be generous with your time, your words and most importantly, with your heart. If you can only be happy with your own success, life is going to be a very long and difficult road for you.

4️⃣ Avoid people who excessively value the wrong things: money, cars, houses and status. Eventually, if you aren't careful, they'll drag you into their world of fakery and disjointed values. Money is important in Islam but excessive materialism is looked down on.

5️⃣ Spend time with grateful people, people who see the glass half full rather than half empty. Their optimism will add another dimension to your own life. Positive people inspire gratitude whereas negative people can inspire jealousy.
